ACADIANA NEEDS
Our Story
Acadiana Needs significantly impacts Louisiana communities, embodying the Gospel's call to love one another (1 John 3:17-18). By connecting individuals to resources, we empower them to recognize their worth in God's eyes. Tribute to The King Family
In 1952, the Lord called Reverend R.S. King and his family to Louisiana to minister to the people, founding the First Assembly of God (now Assembly of Youngsville), Acadiana's first Pentecostal church. The church began in the King's home and expanded to tent meetings, with a daily prayer meeting initiated by Pastor King at 6:00 AM, which continues today. He founded Assembly Christian School and co-founded various organizations, including 232-HELP. Pastor King dedicated his life to serving the lost in Acadiana, helping families in need, and reaching souls for Christ through his KAJN broadcast. He retired in 1994.
Tiffany, the King’s granddaughter, was deeply influenced by their love and generosity. After receiving a call from the Lord at King's funeral, she and Michael King have sought God's direction in Lafayette for ten years. Their goal is to serve as hands and feet for Christ, providing free resources to homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, abuse, education, and human trafficking.
Tiffany is the granddaughter of the Kings and is constantly inspired by their generosity and love for all. Tiffany and Michael King received a calling from the Lord at Pastor King's funeral. Having lived in Lafayette for ten years, they have been seeking divine guidance. Their prayer focuses on reaching others for Christ, aiming to serve as the Lord's hands and feet, and they are committed to following wherever He leads. Their dream is to assist people by providing free services and resources to meet both immediate and long-term needs, including but not limited to homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, abuse, education, and human trafficking.
