KNOWN BY NAME PROJECT

The Known By Name Project serves as the first step in Acadiana Needs’ pathway of restoration:

Known By Name → Off The Streets → Bridge to Recovery → Back to Life

The mission: To meet people where they are, learn their name, hear their story, and build genuine relationships that lead to hope and transformation.

We believe people are more than their circumstances. Whether someone is experiencing homelessness, addiction, poverty, or a difficult season of life, every person deserves to be seen, known, and loved.

Through weekly outreach efforts across Acadiana, our volunteers provide practical support while building trust and meaningful connections within the community.

  • 5,000 : Feeding the Masses – Serving meals, plate lunches, and food resources to individuals and families throughout Acadiana.

  • Mats to Bags Program – Transforming recycled plastic bags into sleeping mats for individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Bath-in-a-Bag Hygiene Kits – Distributing hygiene products, bottled water, and essential personal care items to those in need.

  • Salvation Snack Bags – Providing snack bags filled with food, encouragement, and resources during outreach efforts.

  • Community Connections – Referring individuals to local organizations, treatment programs, churches, housing assistance, employment opportunities, and other resources available throughout our community.

  • Prayer & Encouragement – Offering hope, prayer, and the love of Christ to those facing life’s challenges.

  • Building Relationships – Taking the time to learn names, hear stories, and walk alongside people on their journey toward healingand restoration.

Every transformed life begins with a relationship. Before someone enters treatment, moves into sober living, finds employment, or reunites with family, someone must first know their name.

OFF THE STREETS PROJECT

The Off the Streets Project serves as the second step in Acadiana Needs’ pathway of restoration:

Known By Name → Off The Streets → Bridge to Recovery → Back to Life

The Mission: When someone is ready to seek help, timing is critical. The Off The Streets Project helps ensure that transportation costs, basic necessities, and financial barriers do not prevent someone from receiving life-changing treatment.

The decision to enter treatment can be the beginning of a completely new life, and we are committed to helping individuals take that first step toward freedom, healing, and restoration.

  • Transportation to Treatment – Helping individuals reach treatment facilities throughout Louisiana, including programs as far away as the Shreveport area.

  • Gas & Travel Expenses – Covering fuel costs and transportation expenses associated with treatment placement.

  • Meals During Travel – Providing food and drinks while individuals are traveling to treatment.

  • Clothing Assistance – Purchasing necessary clothing and basic essentials when needed for treatment admission.

BRIDGE TO RECOVERY PROJECT

Bridge to Recovery Project serves as the third step in Acadiana Needs’ pathway of restoration:

Known By Name → Off The Streets → Bridge to Recovery → Back to Life

Providing a Foundation for Lasting Recovery

The Mission: We helps men and women successfully transition from treatment into a stable, supportive, and faith-based recovery environment. While treatment is an important step, lasting recovery requires ongoing support, accountability, community, and practical life skills.

Through the Lily House and Joseph House sober living programs, Acadiana Needs provides individuals with the tools, structure, and encouragement needed to rebuild their lives and establish a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

  • Safe Faith-Based Housing – Providing a stable and supportive environment for individuals in recovery.

  • Food & Basic Living Needs – Helping provide meals, groceries, household supplies, and daily necessities.

  • Life Skills Development – Teaching budgeting, responsibility, time management, and healthy living habits.

  • Discipleship & Mentorship – Encouraging spiritual growth through Bible studies, prayer, church involvement, and one-on-one mentoring.

  • Accountability & Structure – Providing guidance and support to help residents maintain their recovery journey.

  • Transportation Assistance – Helping residents access work, meetings, treatment appointments, and other recovery resources.

  • Recovery Support Services – Encouraging participation in recovery meetings, counseling, and healthy community connections.

  • Community & Fellowship – Creating opportunities for residents to build healthy relationships and experience genuine belonging.

  • Special Events & Activities – Supporting retreats, outings, celebrations, and activities that foster connection, healing, and personal growth.

Many individuals complete treatment but lack the support system necessary to maintain long-term recovery. The Bridge to Recovery Project helps fill that gap by providing housing, discipleship, accountability, and practical resources that empower individuals to move from surviving to thriving.

By investing in sober living, you are helping provide a bridge between treatment and independent living—giving individuals the opportunity to rebuild their lives, restore relationships, discover their purpose, and walk confidently into their future.

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Philippians 1:6
